After spending the first few days of the new year taking bubble baths and (finally) watching season two of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, I am back at my computer and back to the real world.
For me, a new year means a new reading goal. Usually I set a number goal, like “read 40 books in 2018”, but 2019 looks like it’s going to be a busy year, so I decided to try something a little different that gives me a little more flexibility. This year I’m going by a reading challenge.
The challenge list I created includes 24 books to read – two books a month sounds reasonable, right? I wanted it to be a list long enough to sustain me throughout the year but that also didn’t set the bar too high – this is supposed to be fun after all, not an additional source of stress.
As an added element of fun, I wanted to share this challenge with you, new internet friend and fellow book lover, to see what books other people choose to fulfill each item on the list. I tried to include a variety of criteria so we can keep things interesting (and maybe even find a new favorite book we’d never have picked up otherwise).
The rules are: there are no rules – just have fun with it! Do it in order, not in order, combine categories, whatever your heart desires, just make time to read this year and have fun along the way.
Happy reading!

If you’re like me, there’s almost no better feeling than crossing something off a list so stick it to your fridge, bathroom mirror, desk, or wherever your reading space is and check each box as you make progress throughout the year.
I think I’m most interested to see what book with a yellow cover everyone chooses.
What’s the first book you’re going to cross off the list? Let me know in the comments!
