We’re finally starting to get some cooler Fall weather and I am all for it. One of my favorite things about moving up to this part of the country is that we have four actual seasons, not just hot, hotter, and Satan’s armpit like in Texas. I’m sure I’ll be singing a different tune once we’re deep into snow season but for now I’m a happy camper.
To celebrate the cooler weather, Zach and I went out to one of the pick-your-own farms to pick some apples and flowers.
I now have ten pounds of apples that I’ll attempt to turn into canned apple pie filling and apple butter. It’ll be my first time attempting to can anything (wish me luck) but on the bright side, even if I mess that up our apartment will still smell like Fall heaven and I’ll just have to eat all that pie filling immediately. And wouldn’t that be a shame?
I knew pumpkins and apples were an October thing but had no idea it was also a great time for flowers! Did anyone else think that flowers were just a spring thing?
We got our flower bucket to fill up from the counter and went to town. There’s almost nothing I love more than having flowers in the house and I now have three pretty little arrangements around the apartment adding a little extra joy to our space. Flower arranging is not one of my great skills, but I think they turned out ok anyways.
Hopefully this burst of Fall weather sticks around for a bit, I’m not ready for snow yet! I’d prefer it to stay around 65 degrees year-round, wouldn’t you?
